An earlier version of this paper was written by Jean-Paul Marat during the French Revolution; it was considered "the most celebrated radical paper of the Revolution. In 1793 Marat was murdered in his bath by Charolotte Corday; he is immortalized in David's portrait of this event. This paper was put out by Lebois who wrote about Marat's assassination.
